Hey Hey
Crickets are what your frog will be eating for most of its younger smaller days you can feed meal worms and other things but crickets are far easier as they are full of nutrients and low in fat for the frog and you will have to cut the head off of meal worms...slightly messy, as for feeding your frog other frogs you can do that it will happly chomp it down I prefer to use pre killed pinkie mice and when he gets a little bigger use fluffy mice.
also make sure that crickets are dusted in calcium powder once a week or you can dust your pinkie with calcium as when they are young it is crucial that you do this to maintain good bone growth

I only use crickets becuase they are widely availible and they do provide all the nutrients needed to the frog thats why feeding items such as rodents and fish are only every few weeks when they are young as its not part of there natural diet...the same when they are older.
what do your local pet stores offer in the way of food for exotic animals??
I use cricket diet mixture it contains all the goodness crickets need and then this passes on to the frog, i just but a small bowl in my crickets tank and some water on a cotton wall ball.

Ok lets begin you have put quite a large post On your original post I would not personally feed the froggie goldfish or any fish of any kind the idea of your beutiful frog getting parasites from fish is to risky, unless you know the dealer of the fish and they are in a good condition, I would stick to pinkies as a TREAT that is, my frog is being fed 1 pinkie a week as he is quite big at the moment and can take it. Worms are a good idea they will eat them, but crickets are staple diet , the bugs you have linked me to might not be suitable as some Beetles are poisonous or give of a toxin as defence so I would recommed you feed them to your frog.... With chlorine would you know if in iceland they out anything in the water as in the UK to get rid of the chlorine you can leave the water out for 24 hours and thats takes it out of the water if thats not possible just use the stuff you bought but that can get quite expensive for you and make sure you leave the water for the chemical to mix like again 24 hours I dont use a light with my frog I just use 3 heat mats for him but a light is cool, and you might need it living in iceland heehee also buy a heat mat for under the tank as that is a must for the frog to have the substrate heated correctlly to keep it moist but not under the water bowl. I have never had to use crickets in a can before i would guess alot of the good stuff would be lost in the canning process but the Best thing would be to see a exotic pet store near by and ask what they would reccomnend to you or ask the pet store owner . This is another website I would recomend its called www.arachnoboards.com - go to the spineless wonders forum from there ans loads of people will help you including me :-)

i dont know how good of an idea the 'pros' may think this is, but it worked fine for me... got any roaches? catch a couple in a jar. put a clean damp sponge in there, and some nice healthy cricket feed. here's the important part: You CAN NOT feed your froggies roaches you just find around the house. full of germs!! you need to wait for the ones you caught to lay eggs. they look like little black beans. (the poop is poop, not eggs. the eggs are contained withen the larger black cases, about 1/4 the size of the adult roaches) take the eggs and put them in a new clean jar and raise yourself some good clean nutritious roaches. it's free, easy, and mildly nausiating. just be careful, they're fast! a friend of mine reccomended using a pin of some sort to pin the roach down and either remove it's head completly or damage it's mouthparts... because some roaches are more hardy than others and may try to eat your frog from the inside out! that's no good! roaches actually tend to live and run around just find without their heads.. somtimes for over a week! happy roach wrangling =] [a href="[glow=red,2,300]http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=12672602&imageID=537331692&Mytoken=884C3495-BC7B-A4B6-FA43A1B4E69F20FA55359680[/glow]"][glow=red,2,300]http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=12672602&imageID=537331692&Mytoken=884C3495-BC7B-A4B6-FA43A1B4E69F20FA55359680[/glow][/a]
